Shakespeare Authorship Multigenre Research Project

Shakespeare Authorship

There are four generally accepted candidates for who might have written the plays and poems attributed to William Shakespeare; you will ultimately choose the candidate you feel wrote Shakespeare’s works

  • William Shakespeare
  • Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford
  • Francis Bacon
  • Christopher Marlowe

Begin preliminary research to familiarize yourself with each candidate.  You must research and take notes from a minimum of 5 (five) different sources.  Keep a running bibliography of any source you use.

From the categories listed below you must include:

  • 1 piece from each category below and 2 additional pieces from any categories you choose. 
  • Two pieces per candidate; two additional pieces for the candidate you feel actuallly wrote the plays/poems attirbuted to Shakespeare (10 total).

Group 1: Print Media
